A MUSEUM TOUR OF THE PERMANENT EXPOSITION OF ANCIENT SIBERIA
The tour encompasses five rooms of the ground floor and provides a comprehensive picture of the life of the Siberian regions where nomads bred their cattle in southern Siberia, people grew grain in the valleys of the Ob and Yenissei Rivers, men hunted and fished in the taiga zones and bred caribous in the Arctic zones of Siberia. Development of all these cultures is disclosed in the museum rooms beginning from Paleolithic times to modern ethnography.

The museum tour is dedicated to the history of Siberian telecommunications. One can see here a Morse telegraph, a container for special postages, a uniform of the head of a communications unit, a switchboard for semi-automated long-distance communication, a functioning apparatus— a two-motion step-by-step telephone station, telephones, the first mass television set KVN-49, radio sets, tape recorders, computers, cables, and much else.

The house museum built in 1905 is a sample of typical urban housing of the town of Novo-Nikolaevsk at the turn of the 20th century. The room interiors typify the peculiar features of the urban life of the time. The museum contains photographs, documents, and personal belongings of the outstanding revolutionaries of the town. Sergey Kirov, Yevdokia Kovalchuk, the Shamshin family, Dmitry Shamshurin stands represent the memorial part of the exposition.
