The exhibition «Non-city» by Krasnoyarsk photographer Alexander Kustov. He develops the theme of human existence on the periphery, in the province.
«Non-city» is a series of black-and-white photos of Alexander Kustov made in the native village Rossiyka of the Krasnoyarsk region from 1973 to 2013. For decades, an experienced amateur photographer has been photographing whatever he wants. In his black-and-white pictures he shows an unexpected portrait of modern Russian countryside.
Alexander Kustov: «In my project you won’t see broken harvesters, bad roads with overgrown fields and wallowing peasants. I was taking pictures of the peasants, their children, as I photograph my relatives, without losing hope that a great time would come. I wanted to show people, especially children, the future generation — here they are, pay attention to them!»
Alexander Kustov — a photographer, a member of the Union of Photographers of Russia. Laureate and winner of various regional and national competitions.
